CNG mileage and savings
For standard Conventional and Sequential systems, a general thumb rule is CNG mileage in km/kg ≈ 1.5 × your petrol mileage in km/l. For example, 10 km/l gives an estimated 15 km/kg.

Cylinder choice and boot space
Car-cylinder options include 60 L and 65 L single cylinders and smaller twin-cylinder (dual-cylinder) combinations. Compare remaining luggage space, seating and spare-wheel access with the installer.

Installation, service and warranty

Warranty covers the main kit components, subject to the terms in the owner’s manual. Consumables, pipes and accessories are excluded from warranty coverage.

Questions before fitment
Kia Seltos me CNG kit price / Kia Sonet me CNG kit price: what does the quote include?
Your dealer provides a dated quotation with one complete fitment price for the kit and installation, including cylinder mounting, installation labour, calibration and operating checks. Documentation charges and accessories outside the standard kit may be quoted separately. Confirm the cylinder specification, applicable taxes, final payable total and written warranty before installation.
The complete system includes the selected ECU, reducer, injector rail or mixer, sensors, switch, valves, wiring harnesses, pipes and standard installation accessories.
The ₹55,000–₹70,000 band applies to eligible port-injected Sequential fitments. DI applications have a separate technical configuration and dealer quotation.
How do Conventional, Sequential, DPI and DI systems differ?
- Conventional: gas is mixed with the intake air through a mixer.
- Sequential: an ECU controls gas delivery through individual injectors.
- DPI (Dual Point Injection): two port injectors per cylinder require the corresponding Sequential configuration. MIJO’s four-cylinder, eight-injector DPI configuration uses a dedicated 4×8 ECU.
- DI (Direct Injection): requires a dedicated system developed for the direct-injection engine.
These are MIJO’s system categories; availability follows the engine applications described on this page. DPI differs from Direct Injection; turbocharging alone does not distinguish MPI, turbo-MPI and DI.
MIJO Direct Drive 2.0 uses KME ECU technology from Poland for supported DI applications.
How does a standard Sequential CNG system work?
CNG means Compressed Natural Gas. In a Sequential system, the reducer lowers gas pressure, injectors meter gas and the ECU coordinates delivery. Three-cylinder, four-cylinder and other supported configurations use the corresponding ECU and injectors.
Standard port-injected Sequential systems start on petrol and change automatically to CNG at calibrated operating conditions; the driver can select petrol when needed.
Can CNG be fitted in Kia Seltos, Sonet, Carens or Carens Clavis?
For a Kia Seltos CNG conversion, the Smartstream G1.5 port-injected engine uses Sequential, while G1.5 T-GDi turbo requires DI technology. Sonet Smartstream 1.2 port-injected petrol uses Sequential; MIJO has technically developed a DI solution for the 1.0 Turbo T-GDi.
Carens Smartstream 1.5 port-injected applications use Sequential. Carens Clavis is a separate range with G1.5 port-injected and G1.5 T-GDi choices. Earlier engines may differ. Syros uses Smartstream 1.0 T-GDi, so an ordinary port-injected Sequential configuration does not apply.
MIJO Direct Drive 2.0 uses KME ECU technology from Poland. Its technically developed Kia DI applications include Sonet 1.0 Turbo and selected 1.4 L and 1.5 L Turbo GDi/T-GDi models; components for Kia Sequential conversions are specified separately. Include the actual engine, variant, year and transmission, including IVT or iMT, in your fitment enquiry.
Are Kia Seltos or Sonet available with factory-fitted CNG?
Kia’s information checked on 5 September 2026 listed petrol and diesel choices, with no factory CNG variant shown for Seltos or Sonet. MIJO’s independent aftermarket offering is separate from Kia factory availability, supplier status or authorisation.
Ask Kia for current ex-showroom or on-road vehicle prices for the exact model, city and date. A Carens on-road price also covers the vehicle and local registration, insurance and charges; a MIJO retrofit quote covers conversion of an existing petrol car. A launch report or old price list does not establish a current offer.
What is the best CNG kit for Kia Seltos or the best CNG kit for Kia Sonet?
A CNG kit for Kia Seltos or Sonet should match its petrol engine: port-injected Sequential and Direct Injection are separate solutions. Compare the actual components, professional installation, calibration, applicable Sequential approval documents, written warranty and local service.
A successful conversion combines the specific supported application, vehicle condition, matched hardware, installation and continuing support. Ask for post-installation checks and service arrangements; another car’s review cannot establish the result for yours.
How do I measure actual CNG mileage and running cost?
Divide distance travelled on CNG by kilograms refilled over comparable fills. CNG mileage is measured in km/kg; petrol mileage uses km/l. Traffic, load, driving style, vehicle condition and calibration affect the result.
For running cost per kilometre, divide the local fuel price by actual mileage in its matching units. The calculator uses local fuel prices and monthly kilometres to estimate savings and conversion payback. Estimates are not guaranteed or factory-certified mileage.
How much CNG fits in a cylinder, and what space will remain?
Litres describe water capacity, not gas weight. For a standard system, a 60 L cylinder holding about 8 kg at 15 km/kg gives an estimated 120 km range. Actual fill varies with residual pressure, gas temperature, station pressure and cut-off.
Compare cylinder size, weight, mounting, valve access, ground clearance, usable seating, luggage and spare-wheel access with your normal passenger load and any commercial equipment. Factory boot volume or another car’s installation does not specify the space remaining in yours.
Confirm the cylinder manufacturer, specification and applicable cylinder documents. MIJO supplies the conversion kit; cylinders are sourced from cylinder manufacturers.
How do I arrange servicing, software or replacement parts?
Contact your MIJO fitment centre with the invoice, system identification and service record. MIJO kit warranty, installer workmanship and vehicle-manufacturer warranty have separate terms. Service cost depends on the work required; ask for an itemised quote covering work, parts, labour and taxes; continue the engine-oil and spark-plug maintenance specified by your car’s owner’s manual.
For poor running, warning lights, fuel-level readings or calibration, provide ECU/component identification, installation history and symptoms. Software and wiring downloads and replacement filters, reducers, switches, sensors, emulators and other components and accessories must match the installed system. Installation includes calibration, leak and operating checks and a road check.
Which approvals and documents do I need for a new CNG kit?
Within MIJO’s Conventional and Sequential range, suitable BS3 petrol applications can use Conventional or Sequential; from BS4 onward, port-injected MPI or MPFI applications use Sequential. BS4 and BS4 OBD2 are separate approval stages, alongside BS6 Phase 1 and BS6 Phase 2. The emission stage alone does not identify injection technology.
For Conventional and Sequential fitment, obtain the applicable vehicle-kit approval documents, including certificate validity, manufacturing year and emission scope, and confirm the local RC endorsement and insurance process. ARAI or ICAT references identify the testing agency; RTO registration is a separate step.
Before fitment, your dealer checks the vehicle condition and confirms the applicable vehicle-kit approval.
MIJO does not support the use or installation of a second-hand CNG kit. Choose a new, complete MIJO kit installation with applicable approval documents and written warranty terms.

What about LPG, diesel or electric vehicles?
Diesel, battery-electric, two-wheeler and heavy-vehicle applications are outside this passenger-car petrol-to-CNG guide. LPG requires a separate system, tank, storage components, assessment and quotation; CNG prices, km/kg figures and fill estimates do not describe LPG. Explore Sequential LPG.
