CNG Kit Price in India: Conventional, Sequential & Direct Injection

Looking for the CNG kit price for your car? The correct price depends mainly on the type of CNG system your vehicle requires. MIJO groups passenger-car CNG conversions into three main categories: Conventional CNG, Sequential CNG and Direct Injection CNG.

The prices below are indicative dealer fitment ranges. They are not wholesale, distributor, kit-only or ex-factory prices. The final fitment quotation is issued by the installing dealer after checking the exact vehicle, engine, suitable CNG system, cylinder requirement and installation scope.

CNG Kit Fitment Price in India

CNG System Indicative Dealer Fitment Price Typical Application
Conventional CNG ₹30,000–₹35,000 Compatible petrol vehicles suitable for a conventional CNG system
Sequential CNG ₹40,000–₹70,000 Compatible petrol vehicles requiring electronically controlled sequential gas injection
Direct Injection CNG ₹1,25,000–₹1,50,000 Eligible petrol vehicles using Direct Injection technology

Important: These ranges are indicative. The installing dealer will provide the final quotation and confirm exactly what is included.

1. Conventional CNG Kit Price

Indicative dealer fitment price: ₹30,000–₹35,000

A Conventional CNG system is generally relevant for compatible petrol vehicles that are technically suitable for a conventional gas-mixing system.

It uses a simpler gas-control arrangement than a Sequential CNG system, but suitability must still be checked for the exact vehicle before installation.

The final dealer quotation can vary according to the vehicle, cylinder specification, installation arrangement, applicable taxes and documentation requirements.

2. Sequential CNG Kit Price

Indicative dealer fitment price: ₹40,000–₹70,000

A Sequential CNG system electronically controls gas injection according to the operating requirements of the petrol engine.

Depending on the vehicle, the system can include a sequential CNG ECU, reducer, injector rail, sensors, changeover switch, wiring harness, filters, gas pipes, cylinder-related components and vehicle-specific calibration.

The ₹40,000–₹70,000 range is wider because different vehicles can require different ECUs, injector configurations, reducer capacities, cylinder specifications and calibration.

Compatible MPI, BS6 and OBD-based applications remain within the Sequential CNG category rather than being shown as separate price categories.

3. Direct Injection CNG Kit Price

Indicative dealer fitment price: ₹1,25,000–₹1,50,000

Direct Injection petrol engines require a specialised CNG control strategy and should not be treated as normal MPI vehicles fitted with a standard Sequential CNG system.

A Direct Injection CNG installation can require a specialised ECU, vehicle-specific software and calibration, compatible reducer and injector configuration, vehicle-specific CNG system operation and detailed application verification.

Not every Direct Injection or turbo-petrol vehicle should automatically be assumed to be eligible. The exact vehicle, engine and application must be checked before fitment.

Why Can CNG Fitment Prices Differ Between Cars?

Even within the same category, two vehicles may not require exactly the same configuration.

  • Vehicle and engine: Different engines can require different components and calibration.
  • Injection technology: Conventional, MPI and Direct Injection engines require different control strategies.
  • ECU and injector configuration: The required ECU and gas-injection channels can vary.
  • Cylinder specification: Capacity, valve and mounting arrangement can affect the final quotation.
  • Installation requirements: Component placement, wiring, high-pressure pipeline routing and filling arrangement differ by vehicle.
  • Taxes and documentation: The dealer should clearly state applicable taxes and documentation-related charges.

What Should a Dealer Fitment Quote Clearly Mention?

Before confirming installation, ask the dealer to clearly specify:

  • CNG system category and model
  • Vehicle application
  • Cylinder make and capacity
  • Cylinder valve and mounting brackets
  • Filling valve and filling arrangement
  • High-pressure gas pipe and fittings
  • Installation labour
  • Calibration and road testing
  • Leakage and safety checks
  • Applicable GST and other charges
  • Warranty terms
  • Documentation and RC-endorsement assistance
  • Any item or charge not included in the quotation

Should You Select the Cheapest CNG Kit?

The lowest headline price should not be the only criterion for choosing a CNG system.

The correct system should be selected after checking vehicle compatibility, the required CNG category, application coverage, component configuration, installation quality, calibration, warranty, spare-parts availability and service support.

How MIJO Selects the Correct CNG System

MIJO does not treat every petrol car as requiring the same CNG kit. Vehicle make, model, variant, manufacturing year, engine, injection technology, emission standard and applicable vehicle coverage should be checked before recommending a system.

After verification, the vehicle is classified into one of the three relevant categories:

  • Conventional CNG
  • Sequential CNG
  • Direct Injection CNG

The installing dealer then provides the final fitment quotation.
