In an automotive LPG system, the vaporiser and solenoid valves perform different but connected jobs. The vaporiser prepares LPG for controlled delivery to the engine, while the valves open or interrupt fuel flow in response to system commands.

How an LPG vaporiser works
LPG reaches the vaporiser as a pressurised liquid. The unit reduces its pressure and uses heat from the engine coolant circuit to help it change into vapour, then maintains an outlet pressure suited to the downstream metering system.
What solenoid valves do
An electrically operated solenoid valve controls whether LPG can pass through a fuel line. Depending on the system design, valves near the tank or engine compartment close when LPG operation stops, the ignition is switched off or the controller detects a condition requiring fuel isolation.
Common service considerations
Coolant leaks, contamination, worn internal parts, damaged wiring or incorrect pressure can affect starting and fuel delivery. Diagnosis should include leak checks and electrical tests by a trained LPG technician, using parts specified for the exact system rather than improvised substitutes.
