Converting a petrol car to CNG is a technical and administrative project, not simply a matter of fitting a cylinder. The vehicle, engine management system and conversion kit must be assessed together, then installed and documented through the process that currently applies in the owner's location.
This guide explains product and selection principles. It does not confirm compatibility, replace model-specific documents or provide a repair procedure.
Confirm suitability before selecting a kit
Ask a qualified installer to check the exact make, model, engine code, emission generation and available boot space. The appropriate route may be Conventional CNG, Sequential CNG—including an OBD-compatible controller where the exact application requires it—or Direct Injection CNG; no single kit is suitable for every petrol car.
How a Thar CNG enquiry is assessed
A Thar CNG enquiry does not by itself establish factory availability or aftermarket eligibility. MIJO must verify the exact petrol engine, variant, model year, proposed system and applicable documents; this is not a diesel-to-CNG conversion claim.
Vehicle CNG uses dedicated automotive hardware
Vehicle CNG requires application-specific automotive components, professional installation and the applicable documentation. Domestic LPG cylinders, regulators, hoses and appliances must never be connected to a vehicle CNG system.
What professional installation involves
The work normally includes secure cylinder mounting, high-pressure pipe routing, a filling valve, reducer, shut-off devices, injectors or mixer, wiring and calibration. A complete job should include leak and function checks under the conditions specified for that system.
Documentation, local registration requirements and care
Requirements for accepted components, inspection, insurance notification and registration updates depend on the destination country. Verify the documents and sequence with its competent transport authority, insurer and qualified installer before proceeding, then retain invoices and certificates for service or inspection.
